Vedic Meditation · Gold Coast & Online

Ancient technique.
Measurable calm.
No effort required.

Vedic Meditation is one of the most researched and accessible techniques available — a simple, effortless practice that works with your nervous system, not against it. Taught by Rich Muir across four sessions, with support for life.

Effortless · Timeless · Proven
A blend of science and soul

The easiest meditation technique
for a modern, busy life.

Most meditation asks you to wrestle with your mind — to concentrate, visualise, or forcibly quiet your thoughts. Vedic Meditation does none of that. Using a personalised mantra, the technique allows the mind to settle effortlessly into deep rest, accessing states the body rarely reaches even in sleep.

The result is a profound restoration of the nervous system — one that builds resilience, clarity, and a lasting sense of inner calm that carries through daily life.

Why Vedic Meditation works

Rest deeper than sleep.
Restoration at the source.

Research led by Dr. Robert Wallace — and supported by decades of subsequent studies — shows that Vedic Meditation reduces the body's metabolic rate by two to five times more than sleep. This isn't relaxation. It's a physiologically distinct state that allows stress to unwind at its root.

From this state of deep rest, the nervous system resets. Accumulated tension dissolves. The mind clears. And the capacity for wellbeing, performance, and genuine connection naturally expands — not because you've tried harder, but because you've finally stopped.

Calm the Nervous System

Vedic Meditation activates the parasympathetic branch of the nervous system, shifting the body from chronic stress mode into a state of deep rest and repair.

Deepen Sleep Quality

The profound rest accessed in meditation reduces physiological arousal — so the body can actually downshift into the deep, restorative sleep it needs each night.

Regular practice is linked to improved cognitive function, reduced mental noise, and the capacity to concentrate and perform at your best — consistently.

Build Emotional Resilience

Improved heart rate variability — a measurable marker of emotional resilience — is a well-documented outcome of consistent Vedic Meditation practice.

Deepen Self-Connection

The practice enhances coherence between heart, brain, and body — helping you feel more present, more grounded, and more aligned with what genuinely matters.

Rich Muir

Rich has had the privilege of teaching Vedic Meditation to over 500 people, and has introduced thousands more to the world of meditation. His own practice spans almost two decades — the first eight years a wandering exploration of Vipassana, mindfulness, and binaural beats, all of which led him, eventually, to Vedic.

Alongside being a Vedic Meditation teacher, Rich holds an Honours degree exploring how dysfunctional breathing patterns influence stress mechanics and nervous system regulation. He works with people from all walks of life — bringing together the science of the nervous system and the depth of these ancient practices.

These techniques have been practised for thousands of years. What Rich brings is a grounded, evidence-informed approach to sharing them — one that respects both tradition and the real lives of modern people.

Common questions

Everything you need
to know.

What is Vedic Meditation?
Vedic Meditation is a simple, effortless practice using a personalised mantra. It requires no focus, no concentration, no breath control — making it suitable for anyone, even those with a very busy mind.
How is it different from other meditation?
Most meditation asks you to concentrate or contemplate — both of which involve effort. Vedic Meditation is based on letting go. Even if you drift, think, or doze, your body is still accessing a profound state of rest. You cannot fail at it. That effortlessness is what makes it so accessible, and so powerful.
Do I need any experience to learn?
Not at all. This technique is designed for complete beginners — and for those who feel they've "failed" at meditation before. If anything, having struggled with other styles often makes Vedic Meditation more of a revelation.
What does the course involve?
Four sessions, taught privately or in a small group, plus a follow-up and ongoing support. By the end you'll be confident and fully independent in your practice — no apps, no ongoing costs, no reliance on anything external.
How much time does it take each day?
Twenty minutes, twice a day — sitting comfortably with your eyes closed. Most people find it fits naturally into their morning and afternoon. It requires no special equipment, no particular environment, and no prior experience.
What support do I get afterwards?
Ongoing support is included — access to refresher sessions, online group meditations, a community forum, and the ability to resit the course at no extra cost. Rich is available for questions anytime.
How soon will I notice benefits?
Many people notice improvements in stress levels, sleep, and clarity within the first few days. Benefits build over weeks and months — and become part of a new, lower baseline that feels natural rather than effortful.
Is it available online or only in person?
Both. Rich teaches in person at Currumbin Valley on the Gold Coast, and online via video call. The full course is available in either format — the experience translates completely to the online setting.
