Functional Breathwork · Gold Coast & Online

Your breath is the fastest
path to a calmer nervous system.

The Stress Breath Program comes in three levels — from a self-directed roadmap for those ready to run with it, to a fully supported journey for complex nervous systems and burnout recovery. Rich will help you find the right fit.

Breathe in · Hold · Breathe out
How it works

Functional breathwork
grounded in the science of stress.

Most people breathe in ways that keep their nervous system in a low-grade stress response — without ever realising it. The Stress Breath Program corrects that, using techniques grounded in CO² tolerance, nasal breathing, and vagus nerve activation.

Which level is right for you depends on where you're starting from. Rich assesses this in a free 20-minute call before you commit to anything.

What changes

Six ways your body and mind
respond to the work.

🌊

Calm the Nervous System

Breathing techniques directly activate the vagus nerve, stimulating the parasympathetic system — your body's built-in brake on the stress response.

Vagus nerve · Parasympathetic activation
🌙

Improve Sleep Quality

Restoring healthy CO² balance reduces physiological arousal at night — so your body can actually downshift into the deep rest it needs.

CO² balance · Sleep architecture

Boost Energy & Mental Clarity

Efficient breathing improves oxygen delivery to the brain and muscles. Less fog. More capacity. Energy that doesn't crash by 3pm.

Oxygen efficiency · Cellular energy
💙

Enhance Emotional Regulation

Improved heart rate variability (HRV) is a measurable indicator of emotional resilience. The program tracks and trains this directly.

HRV · Emotional resilience
🌿

Strengthen Physical Health

Nasal breathing increases nitric oxide production, supporting cardiovascular function, immune response, and overall systemic health.

Nitric oxide · Nasal breathing

Build Everyday Resilience

Raising CO² tolerance trains the body to stay calm under pressure. You stop reacting — and start responding, even in high-stress moments.

CO² tolerance · Stress resilience
Is this right for you?

This works for people carrying stress they
can't seem to put down.

You don't need to be in crisis. Most people who come to Rich are functioning — often well. But there's a persistent undercurrent that never quite switches off. A body that won't rest. A mind that won't quiet.

The journey

From stressed to well.

The program follows a predictable arc. How quickly you move through it depends on which tier is right for you.

01

Stress

Chronic nervous system activation. Mind always on. Body never recovering. Sleep disrupted. Reactivity high.

02

Awareness

Understanding the breath-stress loop. Identifying your patterns. Learning to regulate in real time.

03

Calm

The nervous system begins resetting. Sleep improves. Reactivity softens. Daily practice becomes an anchor.

04

Wellbeing

Sustained regulation. Energy returns. Resilience builds. A new baseline — one that feels natural, not effortful.

Evidence-based progress

You'll see the change.
Not just feel it.

Every program includes breath and stress assessments from the start. Higher tiers add HRV monitoring and closer tracking throughout. These aren't just tick-boxes — they give Rich the data to personalise your sessions and show you measurable evidence of change.

Discuss your situation with Rich

Breath Assessment

Measures breathing mechanics, nasal function, and CO² tolerance. Establishes your baseline and tracks functional improvement.

Stress Assessment

Identifies how your nervous system is currently responding to daily demands — and where chronic activation is showing up.

HRV Monitoring

Heart rate variability is the gold-standard marker of nervous system resilience. Included in Rewire and Rebuild tiers.

Personalised Sessions

Each session is built around your data and progress. No generic protocol — the program adapts to where you actually are.

Common questions

Everything you need
to know.

How do I know which tier is right for me?
The free 20-minute assessment call with Rich is specifically designed to answer this. He'll ask about your situation, stress history and what you're hoping to change — and give you an honest recommendation. There's no pressure to proceed.
What if I'm in burnout — is this safe?
Yes. The Rebuild tier is specifically designed for people in burnout or recovery. Sessions are longer to allow proper integration, practice is paced to your capacity, and emotional support is built into the program. Rich will never push beyond what your nervous system can handle.
Can this really help with stress and anxiety?
Yes — and the mechanism is physiological. Dysfunctional breathing patterns directly maintain the stress response. The program corrects those patterns, reducing the physical experience of anxiety at its source. Most clients notice a shift within the first two to three sessions.
What does the initial assessment involve?
The first session includes a full breath assessment measuring CO² tolerance, breathing mechanics and nasal function. Rich also looks at stress markers and your overall picture before designing your personalised approach. Session length varies by tier.
How much time does daily practice require?
Typically 10–15 minutes. For Rebuild clients in recovery, Rich will pace this to what feels manageable — the goal is consistency, not intensity. The daily practice is where the real nervous system rewiring happens between sessions.
Is this available online or only in person?
Both. Rich works with clients in person at Currumbin Valley on the Gold Coast, and online via video call. All three tiers are available in either format — the program translates fully to the online setting.
What outcomes can I realistically expect?
Most clients report improved sleep, reduced anxiety and a greater capacity to stay calm under pressure. HRV improvement is measurable and common. The aim is a new, lower stress baseline — not just temporary relief. Results depend on consistent daily practice.
What if I need more sessions than the tier includes?
Rich will always be honest if he thinks more time is needed — particularly for complex or long-standing nervous system patterns. This is discussed openly at the assessment and throughout the program. No surprises.
